In 2009, upon returning to the United States after teaching English in Spain, I chose to explore career opportunities directly related to my passion for fitness. My first step on this path began with Maria Garre, who introduced me to Prana Flow Yoga®, a vinyasa style of yoga created by master yoga teacher, Shiva Rea. Within that year, I completed my 200 Hour RYT in Prana Flow Affiliate Teacher Training Program at Ananda Shala Yoga and Pilates Studio in Frederick, MD. During this same time, I also worked as a Teacher Training Coordinator for Samudra Yogadventures, Shiva Rea’s personal yoga company. This same year, I also received my Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Group Exercise Certification.

After teaching yoga at Ananda Shala and starting my 300 Hour Yoga Certification in Prana Flow Yoga® with Shiva, I chose to relocate to Washington, D.C in 2010 to teach group fitness and yoga classes at various gyms and studios including, Yoga District, MINT, Balance Gym, Vida Fitness, Stroga, and City Fitness.

I earned my Master’s Certification in Reiki and TRX Training Certificate after receiving instruction from Laura O’Neale and Eric Giroux; both experts in their respective fields.

I completed my Peak Pilates Comprehensive Level 1 Certification in early 2013, with Peak Pilates Teacher Trainer Connie Borho. Now I am able offer clients an even more unique approach to holistic fitness by including classical Pilates along with my vast experience in teaching.

After 3 wonderful years in D.C., I left to volunteer in North Bali, teaching English to children. This program, sponsored by the Bali Mandala Resort and patron donations, offers free English classes to the town’s children. It was an incredible experience, and I was fortunate enough to teach yoga at the resort while I was there.

Following my heart in 2013, I relocated to Richmond, VA, where I have found a wonderful and welcoming yoga and fitness community! I stopped teaching full time in 2015 to focus on maintaining a more balanced schedule and finding some financial stability. I now work full time for the MCV Foundation, and am currently teaching for Project Yoga Richmond. Check out my calendar to workout with me!

I love trying new styles of fitness and yoga and sharing the experience with others! I’m also an avid traveler, hiker, health nut, and dog lover. I hope you are able to find some inspiration, information and insights from my website!

Prana Flow is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga cultivated by Shiva Rea and the Global Vinyasa Collective of Teachers.

Students of all levels are empowered to experience prana – the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence – as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living.

Practitioners learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga and the state of flow drawn from Krishnamacharya’s teachings, Tantra, Ayurveda, Bhakti, Somatics and Shiva’s teaching experience from the last fifteen years.
